Northern and Southern Cricket Frog

The Northern and Southern Cricket  Frog  is a very small frog.  It is in the family  Hylidae ,which are Tree Frogs. Unlike other Tree Frogs ,this frog spends most of its time on the ground. This frog is very tiny and it has powerful hind legs which propel this frog forward quite far.  The Northern and Southern Cricket Frog  can jump up to 50 times their own body length. This would be the equivalent of a human jumping end zone to end zone on a football field, without having a running start. (Frogs the Animal Answer Guide by Mike Dorcas and Whit Gibbons.) The Southern Cricket Toad can also can reach a vertical height which is  the equivalent height of a person jumping from ground level to the top of a 38 floor building.(National Wildlife Federation).
